Black screen of death (Ipad 7th Gen)

Yesterday, My Ipad went completely black and totally unresponsive (Hard resetting doesn't work), No sound or visuals in any shape or form (I tried charging, it doesn't show the symbol). I remember the screen glitching slightly and quickly showing a brown screen all for a slight second before being sent to this dead-like state. This issue happened the day before, but the screen only glitched and restarted. The Ipad I'm currently using is around 1 1/2 years old

I had another Ipad prior to getting a new one that never encountered this issue ever since I've gotten it (around 3-4 years). I really hope this saves me a trip to the repair shop!

Connect your iPad to its Power Adapter and allow it to charge. Whilst still connected to the Power Adapter:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Note: If iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.

If the iPad remains unresponsive, you would be well advised to seek assistance directly from the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - where the technicians can test and assess your iPad.
