Transferring data from iPhone 8 to iPhone 12

The personal data takes only a few minutes but the apps could take hors if you have a lot of them.

I’m having a similar issue with my apps transferring from my iPhone 8 to my new iPhone 12 Pro. I can see the apps on my new phone, but they’re’ extremely been stuck ‘Loading’ overnight. It’s been about 20 hours of these apps appearing to be about half-way loaded now. I’ve tried force restarting and verified my WiFi signal is working, both devices are plugged in & next to each other. Anything else I should try besides continuing to wait? I’m trying to return my old device for a credit, but don’t want to wipe it clean until I know my new phone is working properly.
