magsafe
magsafe charger plugged in to power source. when i place my iphone 12 on it, nothing happens.

Do you have another phone to test the charger with? Any phone with wireless charging should receive the power. I used to charge my Samsung S21 off of my Apple MagSafe charger.
Also try a different outlet.
If you are still not receiving power the MagSafe charger may be defecting. Have Apple send you a replacement.
