Incompatible Disc error

It's been a while since I've used an actual computer. I picked up a refurbished 2017 iMac running Mojave 10.14.6

Everything seems ok, but when I login I encounter the "incompatible disc" notification in the upper right hand corner of my screen. Does anyone know how to remedy it? I'm kind of at a loss and don't want to get messing with anything without some sort of idea what to do. Thanks in advance.

That would concern me that the previous owner did not properly prepare the Mac for sale by following the instructions in this Apple article:

Personally even if the previous owner did perform a clean install I would still recommend you performing a clean install of macOS yourself so you have no doubts about the integrity of the file system and the OS and installed apps which could contain malicious software from the previous owner (I would perform steps 1, 5, and 7). At the very least you should Option Boot the Mac to make sure no firmware password is enabled as that would be very bad (if you did not enable it yourself).
