Unable to change hyperlink color in Apple News+

Hi everyone. I just finished a chat with someone about this problem, and I’m unhappy, so am posting this message as feedback. I’m using an iPad Pro 10.5” with the latest system and software, and am using the dark theme.

The News+ app shows hyperlinks in dark blue, so I’m dealing with dark blue text on a black background - which is hard to read.

The person I chatted with said (after looking stuff up) that I couldn’t change the hyperlink color on my iPad, and texted me a link to how to apply color filters (or make other changes) in Settings/Accessibility/Display & Text Size. Those adjustments are mystifying to me. I tried a couple but it didn’t help.

Why can’t they change the default hyperlink color in the dark theme (aka “appearance”)? For the light theme, dark blue is fine (for the white background). For the dark theme, it should be (for example) light blue. I’d like to submit a complaint and request this change be made, but don’t know how, so am posting this. Thank you.
