Transferring data from android to IOS
Does the transfer data app need to be on both devices?
Can I turn on airplane mode to prevent interruptions?

Hello ISkialaska,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're attempting to transfer data from an Android to iPhone. You'll want to follow the directions as outlined in the linked article, Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Reviewing the article, it doesn't mention using Airplane mode, so it would be best to leave this off during the process.
It does appear that you'll need to download the Move to iOS Device app to your Android phone, but it's not mentioned as being needed on the iPhone. When going through the setup process, you'll be presented with an option to transfer data from an Android, simply select that and follow the onscreen instructions.
Best wishes!
