My question is exactly as stated. Now, screen recordings just save to the desktop, but I want them to save to a folder instead. I tried creating an Automator workflow, but I must have done something wrong because it didn’t work. I have done the same thing for screenshots which worked perfectly. Any idea on what I can do?

again in options, do you have "remember last selection" selected?
first push "cmd+shift+5" to open the screen recording controls and choose "options"
then choose a "save to" location.
