MacBook Air M1 external monitor is disconnect after I remove the power cable from MacBook and close the MacBook lid. what can I do now sir ?

I contact the apple coustomer support they take my 30min to understand the problem and can't help me.

it is compulsory to connect macbook with power source ?

i cannot use external display with close the macbook lid and without charge it sam time?
