Airdrop Doesn't differentiate Between Devices on same iCloud account

If I try to airdrop from my partner's (different iCloud acct) computer to mine, Airdrop only shows my iCloud contact. It doesn't show the different devices present. This means that I can't differentiate between my iPhone, iPad, or Mac mini, as they're all on the came iCloud account. The only way I can get Airdrop to differentiate devices on the same iCloud account is to turn off iCloud contact syncing on each device. This seems like a pretty ridiculous workaround. Is there no option to force Airdrop to look for devices instead of contacts? BTW, all devices have Airdrop set to receive from Everyone.
