Is this a phising scam or legit?

This morning I got a text from 833-72 with these three messages:

Apple: Get ready for your delivery arriving by 10:19 a.m. Someone must be present when delivery arrives. See more info at: https://www.apple.com/s/ac6W8n8J3k

Apple: Your delivery is arriving. Someone must be present when delivery arrives. See more info at: https://www.apple.com/s/ac6W8n8J3k

Apple: Items in order W793100110 were delivered. We hope you enjoy them. Visit https://www.apple.com/s/ac6W8n8J3k for more details.

Because the link looks, to me, like it's legit, and it was early in the morning and I had woken up to it, I clicked it and tried to log in. The site is:

Is this legit? I called "1-800-MY-APPLE" and gave them the order number in the text and they said they couldn't find an order with that. Please help

Might be — What to Check and Do:

Did you order anything? If not - it’s a scam, or someone ordered it using your account. So, hover over the link with your cursor(don’t click it) and see if the same link pops up.

In all, I’d say...

Please define "legit". Those are legitimate texts from Apple. I get these kinds of things on a regular basis, sometimes from Apple, sometimes from other companies. The problem is that phone numbers are not unique. Sometimes people give out fake or incorrect phone numbers.

However, I don't necessarily think this is something you should ignore. Keep all records of these texts and the order number. You may need them in the future. Keep an eye on your credit reports. Technically speaking, this is identity theft. Someone is using your phone number for their own transactions. It could be an innocent mistake or it could be something more malicious. Scammers are extremely clever about these things. The reason identity theft is so popular is because it is always successful. If this isn't an innocent mistake, you will be on the hook. You need to keep what evidence you have in case you need to plead your case to a credit reporting agency or the police.

Go ahead and call your credit card companies too and make sure there aren't any unusual charges. I once had someone steal my credit card and use it to purchase gold coins from the Canadian Mint. I didn't know about it until my card got declined for a small purchase. I keep a zero balance on my card and they emptied that sucker! I even called the Canadian Mint to try to help them catch the scammer, but they didn't care - privacy laws, you know.

If you didn't get full details of your call with Apple, go ahead and call them again. Make sure to note the date and time of your call, the representative you spoke to, and make sure the call is recorded against your own Apple ID. If this is fraud, it will be your responsibility to clear your name and credit report. The sad fact is that there are privacy laws and they will protect the identity of the other person. No one will tell you anything.
