Export "messages" conversations "with" the date/time metadata

How can one save a text message thread from Messages with the date and time metadata in tact? It is easy to copy a conversation and paste it into Notes or Pages, but the metadata is lost.

This question has been asked here in the past, but it has not been answered. Anyone have a solution?

Hello dsinyc and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty exporting data from the Messages app.

The Messages app has never supported exporting unless you count printing. If you would like to leave feedback for Apple about that, you can do so here: Product Feedback - Apple Cheers.
