Apple Pay not working after retrieved stolen phone

My phone was stolen so I turn my debit card off from my apple play. I was able to find my phone and added my card back but it won’t work when I try to use it. I know it’s unlikely many people have this problem since the I was crazy lucky to get my phone back. But hoping someone can help!

We want to help you as much as possible. Review the section of this article that states "Get help if your device is lost or stolen" to see if you previously permanently removed the ability to pay from your iPhone with Apple Pay:

Manage the cards that you use with Apple Pay

You may need to call your card issuer to remove any restrictions that were placed on your card as well.


Here are a few questions that may help other users assist you with this issue:

1- What happens when you try to use Apple Pay?

2- Do you receive an error message, and if so, please provide us with the error.

3- Are you able to use your debit card with any other services and to make any other purchases at this time?

Please make sure your region for your Apple ID is correct and that it is correct on your phone. Also, make sure you're in an area that supports Apple Pay: Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
