I am new here. I want to start and learn on how to make programs, games and software using my iMac (21.5 -inch, Late 2013) macOS Catalina 10.15.7.
I had already installed XCode and Visual Studio Code, are these enough to have a good start?

Then use the Swift playground and try out some routines (in Xcode).
Visual Studio is not need on a Mac.
Go to the real developer forum and download sample code to start => https://developer.apple.com

On your Mac, open Apple Books app and download Swift the programming language from Apple.
