How to rotate my iPad screen
To enable or disable Screen Rotation, you need to access the Control Centre. Swipe downwards from the top-right corner of the screen - then tap the Screen Rotation lock icon:
If screen rotation proves to be problem with some Apps - and not others - you need to be aware that not all Apps are coded to operate in both Portrait and Landscape screen modes. Apps that have a fixed screen orientation will always appear in the orientation determined by the App Developer.

If none of the suggestions in here helped, Rotate the screen on your iPad - Apple Support, you may have an app that does not allow for screen rotation. iPhone apps running on the iPad will not rotate and will only appear in Portrait mode.
What year and model iPad do you have/own?
The “A” model number can be found on aluminium back of your iPad in small print
right under the larger bold print “iPad”.

You may have the screen lock turned on which would cause the device not to flip!
