My Contacts are not the same in my iPhone and iCloud, as they are in my Mac.

Hi,

I have done a major tidy up of my contacts in my Mac Contacts App. changing the layout and incorporating Smart Groups. My iCloud and iPhone (SE 2020) contacts are now out of step - I expected iCloud to update itself and for this to take care of the iPhone. I'd be grateful for advice please, to get the same update into my iCloud and my iPhone Contacts App. I don't understand why my iCloud Contacts data didn't update.

Hello Percival876,

First let me apologise sincerely for failing to get back to you and offer my thanks for your expert help, which enabled me to sort out my contacts. Inexcusable but I've been so immersed in setting up and learning to use my new iPhone (first smart phone), and dealing with a problem on the fingerprint security feature that I just lost track of this issue until just now going through and sorting my accumulated emails.

So thanks again to you and to have continued access to many among your community of experts is so reassuring.

Very best wishes.

Hi Enteen,

I'd check to ensure that the contact are being saved to your iCloud account first, and then that you have contacts enabled under your iCloud settings (which would allow it to sync).

There could be another account (such as gmail or on my Mac) that the contacts are being saved to and that may be why you aren't seeing them.

I hope this helps!
