How to reset secret question?

Because of recently update on Apple Connect, with need for 2 factor identification, I ended up needing to answer the "Secret Question" with I don`t remember, or I never had setup the information itself.

But now when I go to "recover password & secret question" process, even choosing "reset secret question", the website ask me answer those exact question.

So how can I reset it without needing to answer the question?

Seems your right, there is no way to reset the "Secret Question".

I called the support center directly, and try to find a work around for this issue but no success.

So to summarize, for those who`s keep getting the message (We don't have sufficient information...) when trying to reset the "Secret Question", from what I heard from the support center, seems that the account doesn`t hold a email address for resetting.

I was able to reset my password, but that seems to use the account email address, with is different from "secret question" reset.

Strange thing is that, when I created my account like 5~6 year ago, seems that "Secret Question" information was required 100% in order to create a account, but the email for recovering such a information wasn`t, that why this I keep getting the message (We don't have sufficient information...), since I probably didn`t specify it.

I wonder what exactly is the purpose of this "Secret Question", I mean password can be changed without it, prove of identification can be done in many different ways, such as SMS, providing a link on that person email.

Anyway, for those whos stuck at the same issue as this, my resolution is to create a new account.

And for those who has bank info, running apps managers accounts, I hope you never get to deal with it, since there is no fixing for loosing a Secret Question (without recover email, it is basically game over)

Hello 尚輝,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you are wanting to know how to reset security questions.

You'd want to begin by following the steps in this article: If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions

If you're unable to reset the security questions following these steps you'll need to continue trying. If you answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you temporarily can't use your security questions. You can try again to reset them after the waiting period ends.

Take care.

Thank you for the reply.

So I went to the link, but seems strange to me.

After "reset your security questions", the page takes me to a new process to enter the account info, password, and than goes to process "answer one of the secret question".

Seems odd, I want to reset those "question", but in order to do so, I need to answer it.

Is there a way to contact Apple support, and ask them to send me a reset request into registered email?

Thanks for the info.

So basically loosing the secret question mean loosing the account itself.

But still, I would keep looking a way to contact Apple directly, I mean if this is the only way to deal with "secret question loss", I would like to hear from Apple.

There is too much as binding bank account info, apps projects, too much things that can be hold inside a account that shouldn`t be that simple. I mean there should be others ways to proof the identity.

I mean in this all mess, I manage to reset my password by requesting password reset to my registered email, so I got to reset my password, but there is no way to deal with "secret question", probably I`m missing something out, it should be a reset "question" request button somewhere.

Thanks anyway.

Thank you for reply.

But seems here in Japan "Apple support options are currently limited.".

Chat option, Phone Calls, "Contact Apple for help", all leads to same "Get Support " page.

And from there, I proceeded to "forgot my secret question", and on the bottom part "iforgot.apple.com. ", with lead me to log in with my account and password.

But always comes back to "We don't have sufficient information...", and no success at all.

Not sure, but this secret question process started when Apple started requiring double authentication, right?

I really don`t remember setting up those secret question when I created my account, so probably there is no answer or "information" at all.

My account is probably 6 year old, and I didn`t login for a awhile like 4 month or so, in mean time seems that "double authentication" started, so I probably had missed some initial start for all this changes.
