Beats Flex Sound Leakage During Calls / Zoom. Similar to Transparency mode. Active Microphone Issue

I own a pair of Beats Flex and they work/sound great when listening to music, however, every time I am on a phone call or am using them for Zoom, I notice that the microphone is active and is pumping in sound almost like a transparency mode (even if I am muted or if my zoom mic is off). I know this because I hear a crackling sound whenever the microphone rubs on my shirt or if I touch the microphone. If I bring the microphone to my face and speak into it I can hear my voice loud and clear. I understand that during a call the microphone needs to be on or active but Im not sure why it is pumping in the sound to my ears. This does not happen with my AirPods or any other headphones I use. And before anyone tells me to update my phone and my beats, just know that I already have. I have also reset them. I suspect this could be an intentional design aspect perhaps for safety but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is a way to turn this mic feedback off.

Hello Brando321,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. From your message it sounds like you have noticed a change in the sound quality when you are on a phone call. You've done great work ensuring that your iPhone and your Beats are both up-to-date.

Another step to take is to follow the steps under, "Reset your Beats Flex," from this article: Set up and use your Beats Flex earphones

There is not a feature to turn off the microphone or microphone feedback. If you find you need more assistance, you can Contact Apple Support.

All the best.
