compatible usb keyboard for garageband in macOS11.2.3

is there someone here who uses a usb keyboard with garageband, without any compatibility problems? (my iMac has macOS11.2.3) I am starting out to write songs in garageband and have no prior experience/ knowledge in this field , other than with apple's frequent compatibility breakdowns with 3rd party hardware. thanks!

The Synth has internal audio interface. I just bought a MacBook with an M1 chip (Apple Silicon) and it's on macOS Monterey 12.4. Note 1: I already tested using the original keyboard cable + USB HUB, as well as I bought a new USB-B to USB-C cable, connecting directly to the Macbook and the result was the same. There was no difference. Note 2: In the installation guide of item 2, ask to confirm that the installation was successful if we have files in the folder: /Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/YAMAHA-USBMIDIDriver.plugin /Library/PreferencePanes/MIDI Drivers/YAMAHA-USBMIDIPatch.prefPane I checked and besides the installation report as successfully finished, the files are not in the folder.

Garageband I have a Korg 1000 keyboard and have hooked it up to my MAC desktop using the cable with built in powered driver from the midi ports on the keyboard to a USB port on the mac. How do I get Garageband to recognize the keyboard as an input device.

Connecting YES2 PSR-172 to Garageband Before I get into this question, I want to say that I am not sure if this is even related to apple and this is my first time attempting to connect anything external to GarageBand. As the title says, I have a Yamaha Education Suite 2 model PSR-172. I am trying to connect my keyboard to GarageBand with a Forge MIDI In-Out to USB. When I go to the Audio/MIDI Preferences on GarageBand, it says 1 MIDI device detected but when I press record and play on my keyboard, nothing happens. I have seen many questions quite similar to this one but are out-dated and have a MIDI interface connected to their Mac instead of an adapter like I do. I have gone over and over the manual and can't find anything related to connecting to an AU application. My OS is MacOS Catalina 10.15.7.
