do i need to disconnect my magic keyboard after use or can i leave it connected to my ipad air forever? I don't have any other cover for the iPad yet. Should I buy one?

You can leave your Magic Keyboard always attached to your iPad.

A case or a soft bag are always recommended, especially if you carry your device frequently.
