The page you linked does not show links for Mavericks (see screenshot attachment). I don't think it's a question of MojaveTheDesert not reading Apple's support material — even if they hadn't already seen the page you linked, it is quite lacking for Mavericks information. Thus, it is not possible to resolve the question without further support.

Well, first of all OS X 10.8 is Mountain Lion, not Mavericks. OS X 10.9 is Mavericks. OS X 10.9 is no longer available from Apple. The only downloads I can find are third party archive sites and I would have serious reservations about downloading any of those.

Exactly. It was a substantial oversight on the part of Leanne_68 to suggest an article that doesn't mention Mavericks.
