Is it normal for storage to fluctuate?

I've been noticing that my "other" storage is going up and down from 14gb to around 20gb. Is this something that should be fixed?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Update: I have reindexed my disk in the spotlight settings.

Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
