Ambient sensor and keyboard light not working

After the Big Sur (11.2.3 (20D91)) update the ambient sensor and keyboard light are not working. How do I fix this?

Big Sur 11.2.3 Keyboard backlight stopped working, M1 MacBook Air I can no longer adjust the brightness of the keyboard backlight. It has disappeared from the control center area and the auto adjust feature in the system preferences also does not work. For now, they're "stuck" off. Brightness changing have a macbook pro 13 2014. Everything works fine on mac os mojave. When updating to mac os Catalina, changing the brightness of the screen does not work. The buttons themselves work, that is, you can see the brightness change icon on the screen, but the brightness does not change. I have been using brightness slider for a long time.
