These are the minimum requirements to reset the ScreenTime passcode:

  • A device running iOS 13.4 or later;

AND

  • Knowledge of Apple ID & Password that were used to set up that ScreenTime Passcode.

If you meet those requirements, these are the instructions:--> If you forgot your Screen Time passcode – Apple Support

Shouldn't be this case, you need to erase that device following these instructions (even if related to the passcode to lock/unlock device's screen):--> If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

The bad news is that you cannot restore data from a backup, since the ScreenTime passcode would come back in.

If you have forgotten the ScreenTime passcode (previously known as the Restrictions Passcode), one of the two procedures outlined within this link should resolve the problem:

If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support

If your iPad is capable of supporting iPadOS 13.x, you should update to the most current version before attempting to resolve a forgotten ScreenTime passcode. The most recent iPadOS updates have introduced a new mechanism whereby a forgotten ScreenTime passcode can be reset without wiping the iPad.

To reset a forgotten ScreenTime passcode on older versions of iOS/iPadOS, the iPad must be reset “as new”, losing all locally stored data. In this situation, you’ll not be able to restore your data from an iCloud or iTunes backup - as the forgotten passcode is integral to the backup.

I hope this information is helpful to you in successfully resetting your forgotten passcode.

If you forgot your Screen Time passcode, link-> update your device to the latest iOS or iPadOS, then link->reset your passcode.

If you cannot update to iOS 13 or 14, then you'll need to restore the iPad using iTunes or Finder on a computer to remove the Screen Time Passcode: link-> If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support
