Texts messages won't send

My texts fail to send from my laptop MAC OS Big Sur 11.2.1 It says:

The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer.

Any intelligence on how to fix?

Big Sur listed is 11.2.1 and there is a Version 11.2.3 available to be installed. Perhaps that explains the message you quoted.
