Safari and insane privacy blocking sites.

Enough already. Safari used to be a nice browser. Now it wants to refuse to open website pages over and over. Often you get told that the reason is that "This Connection Is Not Private" and even if you choose the option to "visit this site" and enter your password, you still get blocked. Other times, you get told that the web page does not exist. Oh, and sometimes the attempt to load a site just hangs. This includes such minor sites like Amazon, Facebook and even this discussion site. Oddly, the same sites open without issue using Firefox.

BTW: none of the suggestions on the web about how to fix this issue work, including rebooting and clearing browser cookies and cache.

So, is Apple trying to force us to use other browsers? Anyone know how to fix this annoying problem? Thanks.

If you have not done this already:

login to another account and try it.

Try private browsing: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/use-private-browsing-ibrw1069/mac

Download EtreCheck, run it to see if there is any adware/third party app is causing this issue or not.

      https://etrecheck.com

      Click  “Free download” button,

Open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.

“Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy report” .

Paste the report when you reply.
