Missing Unicode 13 Emojis on MacBook Pro

Whenever I see or attempt to use Unicode 13 emojis on my MacBook Pro, I see placeholders instead of the emojis themselves. I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this problem, but I would be highly grateful for anyone that attempts to help me fix it.

System Overview:

macOS Catalina (Version 10.15.6)

Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015

8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB

emojis disappeared from Apple Mail Emojis just disappeared from my Apple Mail program (version 12.4). WHen I click on the smiley face symbol, nothing happens. How can I get them back? I'm on a MacBook Air laptop (MacOS Mojave, version 10.14.6).

Emojis appearing instead of text on login I'm trying to sign into 'Shot Designer app' (which I use across the cloud but have only just downloaded for my new Mac) but when the sign-in window appears after typing hte first two letters of my email address it insists on producing emojis instead. when, after copying and pasting email address from another loaction and pasting it into the window, it asks for my password but goes to voice control. I've not got this problem on any otehr app or softare. Bizarre. Can anyone help?
