"Important" mail box

I got Gmail to stop labeling mail as important so I no longer see email in the important box. I would like to get rid of that box, but I cannot select it. It is present, but I cannot select it and then used the "Delete Mailbox" selection...

I do have several accounts that are being picked up in mail and some of them are shared with family members and they have "important" mailboxes. Could that be part of my problem?

Any thoughts on how I can get rid of the box?

Hi Glock23,

Thank you for posting Apple Support Communities. We can definitely understand wanting to remove mailboxes that you no longer need. According to the recommend answer here from Google Communities, that label is system generated and is not something that can be deleted. Check out: How do I get rid of the important box.

Hope that helps!
