I am trying to actually delete several apps from my phone, as they have stopped working and all it is allowing me to do is remove it from my home screen but keeping them in my app library, any help on actually deleting is greatly appreciated!

If there is no delete option, there may be a restriction set on deleting apps. On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Deleting Apps.
