My ipod will only transfer half my itunes library onto my ipod when I sync

Check your sync selections to make sure that all you want to be synced is selected. Note that iTunes cannot sync content that is in the cloud, comes from an Apple Music subscription, or isn't where it is expected to be (may show with an exclamation mark). Unchecked tracks are usually excluded from syncing.
If you've eliminated any of the issues mentioned above try Edit > Preferences > Devices > Reset Sync History (if available) and then try syncing once more.
If that hasn't helped try signing out of the iTunes Store on the device and then try again.
