Safari will not connect to the server and my apple account is not working.

Two Things:



A. Can't Connect to the server:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files:

Boot into Safe Mode and then Clear your Temporary Internet Files of Safari:

In Depth:

  • Booting into Safe Mode:

[hold down shift upon boot until the login screen appears]. See if this is still an issue. Safe Mode lets items run as default, without changes whatsoever. That is possible because caches of your macOS are temporarily disabled while in Safe Mode

  • Clearing your Temporary Internet Files (Cookies & Cache) of Safari:

Cookies perform remembrance of certain site-entered data. Whereas Cache keeps a snapshot of the last time you visited a site.  Use this Link: Clearing History and Cache - Apple Communities

B. Apple Account Not Working:

Contact Apple Support:

Let Apple know what has happened. They will see this firsthand, and will run you through the fix.

Why the Wait:

Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Go step by step and test.

1. Restart the router.

2. Deselect Proxies, if selected.


   System Preference > Network > Advanced  > Proxies Tab

   Unlock the lock if you have to.

   Under "Select  a protocol…”, uncheck any box if check-marked.

   Click "OK” then  "Apply”.




Safari can’t open a website that uses a protocol other than http or https

3. If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services
