How do we interact with recovery mode using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse?

If the keyboard doesn't get recognized in the Recovery mode plug it into the Mac with it's USB charging cable and it'll act like a wired keyboard. I've never had any problem with my wireless mouse in Recovery volume or Safe Mode. You may have to buy or borrow a wired mouse.

Am of the " opinion" the Bluetooth Kernels do not get loaded when booted to Recovery Mode 9( personal experience ) thus the issue at hand. As perviously suggested - USB keyboard and mouse for just this occasion will work well.

For some reason Bluetooth is disabled in Recovery volume. You may have to borrow a wired mouse and see if you can activate B/T while in Recovery volume.

In the normal macOS boot. Turn on your mouse and connect it.

Keep the mouse turned on.

Boot into recovery mode

My Apple wireless bluetooth extended keyboard and Apple Magic mouse both work just fine in Recovery mode. If you are using brand-x, Bluetooth devices, then they might not work in Recovery mode.

Have you tried changing the batteries?
