How Do I Completely Reset My Apple Music Cloud Library In MacOS Big Sur?
I just got off the phone with Apple Support who was unable to help me. I am attempting to rebuild my Apple Music cloud library from scratch. I'm on a Mac running macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and all of my devices are up to date. I am trying to reset my Apple Music Sync Library referenced in this article.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204926
Steps I already took.
- Backed up the music I wanted to keep.
- Deleted all music entries from Apple Music on all devices.
- Disabled Library Sync on all of my devices.
- Signed out of my AppleID.
- Waited 24 hours.
- Signed back into my AppleID.
- Added new music collection to Apple Music.
- Reenabled sync on all devices.
- Linked my Apple Music account to my Google Home devices and set Apple Music as default.
When I ask Google to shuffle my music, it starts playing songs that used to be in my Apple Music Library but are no longer and do not show up in the Apple Music app. Google indicated that it is playing songs from Apple Music which I can see on the screen.
It would appear that the cloud reset didn't take and am looking for options that don't involve creating a new AppleID. I would ask that Apple would publish an article with an answer to this question since it appears to come up a lot with the new OS and new music app.
