Do you mean the 'Personal Budget' template at File > New in your menu?

I don't think there is a tutorial available. The quickest way to understand the template is to start working with it.

You enter transactions in the table on the second sheet and the Summary by Category on the first sheet automatically summarizes them for you.

You can customize the template to your specific needs by changing/adding/deleting entries in the Category column (A) of the Summary table on the first sheet. If you do that you need to change the Pop-Up Menu in the cells in the Category column (C) of the Transactions table. You do that by clicking cell C2, going to the Cell tab of the Format pane at the right and editing the items in the Pop-Up Menu under Data Format.

These must exactly match what you've put in the Summary table. Make sure you don't have any misspellings or extra blanks, either there or in the Summary table.

Once you've got the Pop-Up Menu in C2 set up, just command-c to copy and paste into the cells below in column C. Then all cells in column C should have that same Pop-Up Menu.

That's pretty much it. Once you've set up the categories it "just works".
