How do I add Mojave OS to my macbook pro mid 2012?

I am trying to add Mojave OS to my macbook pro mid 2012 with Mac OS Sierra installed, but when I attempt to download the Mojave installer from Itunes https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?mt=12 I get a message that says "This copy of the Mac OS installer is damaged and cannot be used to install Mojave."

Is there a way to download a non-damaged copy from the app store?

I read this article - https://9to5mac.com/2019/10/24/macos-application-damaged/ and it mentions that after you download a new installer from the Store, then you should restart your macbook. After reboot, go to Applications > Install Mojave and try again. This worked for me to get the Installer running.
