Preview text size maximum

The new Big Sur Preview program limits my maximum text size to 200pt.

Other than putting type on a reduced screen grab of the image, what can we do?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

Everything has limits. If 200 pt is a limit in Preview, then look for another tool with a higher point size limit. Affinity Designer v1.9.2 will allow you to place a 288 pt text item over an image. That is its limit.

FWIW, 288 pt text is the preset limit. You can actually create much larger text with the Text tool.

Approximately 1000 pts…

Where are you trying to use text above 200pt? In annotations?

I stand corrected. Just went for the font size menu, and no further. That 1000 pts example re-enforces my comment about another tool…
