Reinstall OSx on mid 2010 iMac after erasing hard drive

I am having trouble Reinstalling OSx on mid 2010 iMac after erasing the hard drive. It has me connect to the WIFI again, then enter my Apple ID and password to authenticate, then it starts trying to instal Captain, then it fails, saying that it cannot do it. Please help!! Everything was working fine before.

iMac 27″, OS X 10.11

Use this link, choose macOS High Sierra, How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support, and use its directions for how to make the macOS High Sierra bootable installer and how to use it. You do need a flash drive with at least 16GB or an external hard drive with at least a 16GB partition.
