transfer music from macbook pro big sur to mac big sur

hi mac book pro is getting full and I am trying to find out how to move music (formerly itunes) to my imac. both big sur latest release

iMac 27″, macOS 11.2

Can't open iTunes Library.itl in Music on new Mac. New Mac running Monterey. Old Mac running High Sierra. I've copied the full library from the old Mac to an external disc and I'm trying to point the new Mac towards the iTunes Library.itl file to import the library. All that happens however is a spinning circle and "Loading", going nowhere. I've looked at the structure of the folder and it seems normal - I've never had it split between locations. (I've also tried deleting the existing Music folder and replacing it with the old one - Music opens up and asks me to choose a library, but this doesn't even result in the loading circle, it just doesn't work at all.) Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks

Moving iTunes library to external drive I began to move my library to an external drive. I believe I copied over all the files but the library that opens is the library from 2015. The music folder is very messy with individual music files among a iTunes and iTunes1 folder. I used the itl file from that one but it seems to be from an earlier file. Do I need to take the unit into an Apple store for in person help?

Mac OS Ventura 13.1 - location of downloaded podcast Need to know where Ventura is storing podcast mp3 files. Have headphones I swim with that require me to copy .mp3 to headphone and since iTunes has gone away Apple has made it more difficult to accomplish this by hiding the location of where mp3 files, specifically podcasts, are stored.

See Move your iTunes/Music library to a new computer - Apple Community. In most cases copying everything from ~/Music to ~/Music will capture the Music library, and any media that remains in the older iTunes Media folder. If your library isn't consolidated then it would be best to use the same username/home folder name for the new machine.
