Stop AirPods connecting to other phones

I don’t know who at Apple decided that it’s ok to have family AirPods connecting to random family iPhones but this is just super annoying. Kids headphones are constantly connecting to iPhones initiating phone connection - even though they are nowhere near the device... also, who the heck decided that iPhones should automatically connect to AirPods when initiating a call and no way to turn this off?

Please provide option to turn all this stuff off.

And no, I don’t want to have separate dang iTunes accounts on every iOS device in our house that various family members use. And I also don’t want to connect every dang AirPod to every iPhone and change some weird switch in Bluetooth that shows up when devices are connected.

Then it’s going to continue happening.

It is the solution to stop doing it.

this is not a solution if everyones devices were setup before that family sharing was available, and if they don't even know how to manage their own devices (including family members who have no idea what icloud and other random stuff like that is and where to find it).

Apple needs to fix this and either provide options to disable this stupid auto connection or revert this to how it was before ios 14.

What you can do is on their iPhone in Settings go to Bluetooth and on there find the Airpods and click the "i" icon next to the name and click forget device, this option will forget the device and stop it from paring or stop the airpods from connecting to the iPhone. If you have any further questions just ask.

if you forget the device on one iphone - it goes away from every other **** iphone. Then when someone repairs it with their device, it reconnects to all other devices and forgets all other settings. This is not a solution.

Well that sounds like being a problem with you using the same iCloud account for every iPhone. It should not when you forget it on one device and do it on all of the devices, unless your possibly using the same iCloud account.

nope, I won't - kids and others can't even create accounts or manage anything on their own. This is not a solution.

lol, b/c there is nowhere to else to tell at Apple about this - their customer support is clueless like robot solutions. Hopefully someone at Apple would actually read this.
