My downloads folder and home videos folder that are on my iPhone in the Apple TV app do not show up in the TV app not the Apple TV 4K. Anyone know how to fix this? Or do they only appear via home sharing with an iMac?

That app on iPhone is a replacement for the previous video app, so it also houses local content. The TV app on Apple TV will only show content from streaming services. To use home sharing you would be using your iMac, to share it's local library, and that would be accessed using the Computers app on Apple TV. If you want to share content off an iPhone you would use airplay.
