Safari preferences opening upon boot up

Hi all,

So a Safari window and the preferences tab open up every time I turn my laptop on after a shutdown, kind of like login items. The preferences tab opens up every time to the extensions section with a specific extension being "selected". I am not sure if that extension is what is causing this to happen but I haven't got any prompts telling what is happening or what caused preferences to pop up.

Does anyone know what could have lead to this?
