I have a customer who wants to purchase an iPad Air with WiFi and cellular, but needs confirmation that the GPS will continue to work if they get out of cellular service range. I have found conflicting information on this. Could someone please advise?

GPS will work, but apps that download the maps in real time (like the maps app) may not work as they would be without the data required to run the app.
