Apple Watch Series 6 - Hard Reset Not Working

My wife has an Apple Watch Series 6, 40mm, and it will not hard reset. I press and hole the crown and side button, the screen will go black, but the Apple logo never appears. I have waited the 10 + seconds, but nothing happens. I then have to press the side button to wake the watch up.

I have a Series 5 and the hard reset work for me. Is there something different on the Series 6? Is there a setting that has to be enabled?

To begin, make sure it's fully up-to-date: Update your Apple Watch

Then, complete a standard restart with the steps here: How to restart your Apple Watch

Also, double-check the steps you're using to force restart with that same article.

Note that a force restart should only be completed if the watch is not responding. Otherwise, a standard restart is recommended.

The watch might be in power reserve mode,try holding just the side button

for about 20 seconds and see if the apple logo shows up.
