Apple Watch and Airpods

Hello,

I dont know if this is a problem, but I have my apple watch paired with my AirPods, and when I try to open a voice message in Facebook Messenger or iMessage, the sound will play on my Apple watch, not AirPods. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

I am going to assume that when you open your AirPods and connect them you see the animation on your iPhone and that you get the ping noise in the AirPods when they connect.

If that is true then all you need to do is to open up the control center on your watch (swipe up on the face) and tap the AirPlay icon then tap on your AirPods

Every sound your watch makes will now come though the AirPods instead of it's speaker.

When you connect the AirPods to your iPhone then the sounds from your iPhone will go to the pods not the sound from your Watch.
