and

Adapters for the Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port on your Mac or iPad Pro - Apple Support

USB+number is primarily a speed/protocol designation. USB+letter is a connector.

"A usb4 is NOT a usb-c. The usb-4 for as apple calls it "Thunderbolt/USB4" which is a hardware connection type for the "MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)" computer that Apple sold and now seems to disown and very hard to find this type of physical connection.
