My SE Clock> Stopwatch is resetting itself. It will run fine, then reset to ‘0’ or simply stop. I assume I’m doing something by taking it in/out of my pocket, but even if I’m careful to not touch any buttons (including ‘home’) the problem continues. Any suggestions on what’s going on?

In that case the stop and reset icons will sometimes touch things that will trigger them.
Stopwatch will continue to run if you click the side button before pocketing.
Do you turn the screen off before pocketing it?
I meant Turn the screen off by pressing the side button briefly.

I am almost 70 and my prints are a little feint but most people enjoy the speed of phone opening. Wet fingers don’t always work.

Okay, got it and it seems to work, thanks. But one last question, is there a work-around setting so I don't have to enter the passcode in each time I want to turn it back on?
Let's assume I'm an iPhone novice. How do I "turn the screen off?" I know how to shut the phone down (right side button > and swipe "slide to power off") and turn it back on (right side button > enter passcode). Am I missing some some intermediate step or screen or setting? Surely I don't have to turn the phone off to put in my pocket?
