turn off bluetooth quick menu iphone

Well, the title says it all. For some reason I am only able to temporarily disable my bluetooth on my Iphone devices through the quick menu.

I have to switch a lot between the bluetooth enabled/disabled option, so the quick menu is perfect for that. But for some reason it just pops back on after an hour or something.

I was wondering if there is an option I missed? Or if there is a way to change the timer for it to switch back on?

I don't understand what the use case would be if not.

Thanks in advance!

The Bluetooth toggle in Control Panel does not turn off Bluetooth. It prevents the iPhone from connecting to Bluetooth devices that are not already connected. Devices that are actively connected will stay connected. This is by design, and allows devices such as an Apple Watch, AirPods, or Bluetooth speakers to continue to function while preventing other devices from interfering. The WiFi toggle works in the same way.

As for the duration, it is not configurable. The iPhone might enable Bluetooth before the next day based on your location changes and prior usage patterns.

The only way to turn Bluetooth or WiFi off completely is through Settings or Siri. On the extremely rare occasion that I want to turn one off, I usually pick up my iPhone and say “Hey Siri, turn off Bluetooth.” I only ever do that when I want my Apple Watch to use WiFi or cellular even though my iPhone may be nearby.

Hi msole1337,

We appreciate you reaching out for help regarding this question you've got about configuring Bluetooth in Control Center. We're happy to help make sense of the behavior you're seeing.

By design, toggling the Bluetooth button in Control Center will not turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone. It will temporarily disconnect from Bluetooth devices until you travel to another location, or until 5 a.m. the next day.

The following guide has more information, and explains how Bluetooth remains available for certain features:

Have a great day!

If what you're saying is true. My Iphone SE 2020 is broken? Because when I'm connected with my Bose NC700 headset to my Iphone, it does disconnect while pressing the "toggle bluetooth" in the quickmenu.

The same goes for the wifi toggle. It will disconnect the wifi. Strange this is, this has been the case for all of my Iphones I have owned. Are you honestly telling me that my last 5 Iphones were actually broken/faulty?

I mean, the way you explained it... I could somewhat understand the usecase. Is there maybe something wrong with the European Iphones? I just checked the Iphone of my GF and she has the same issue. Wifi AND bluetooth will disconnect the currently connected device(s).

I'm getting the feeling I opened up pandora's box here.
