I need to turn off find my iphone on a broken device. How do i?

Hi. I was able to try this before by logging in the Apple ID at www.icloud.com/find

It will show up there your device listed then hit "Remove from Account". Doing that will unlink the account and disable the "Find my" feature. Hope that helps!
