What is the best website blocker to use that is compatible with Big Sur OS?

I have a teenager who is failing his classes because he has discovered Discord and gaming while his classes are in session- I had used Mobicip and that was great, until it rendered my computer useless by blocking EVERYTHING- my computer guy said that there are some 3rd party site blockers that are too strong for the OS on the Mac..... ANY suggestions are welcome. I’m not savvy at all on the computer, so layman’s terms will be appreciated!

TIA!

Hi Compinept,

(If you haven't already) If you have a 2012 or newer iMac, upgrade to macOS Catalina: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support.

(If you haven't already) If you have a 2014 or newer iMac, upgrade to macOS Big Sur: How to upgrade to macOS Big Sur - Apple Support.

You can then use Apple's built in feature for this called "Screen Time": Set time limits for apps and websites in Screen Time on Mac - Apple Support.

Cheers,

Jack
