How contact names show up

Can people see how I entered their name in contacts when I imessage them? What about if I email them? I use description in the contact name to help me remember who a person is when I see a call from them. I would hate to offend someone by them seeing and not liking how I entered their name in my contact list.

Separately and related, does my Group name or nickname for them show up when I contact them in iMessages or email or calling?
