Data roaming charges

I have T-mobile and don’t live near T-m cell towers. I have data roaming turned off, but every month T-m sends me a message that I have used all of my roaming data. How can I use data roaming when it is turned off? I’m not an idiot, something is wrong w/ iPhone.

I would like to be able to use some of the data roaming, but I run out about 2 days into my billing cycle. (Even with the roaming turned off!)

Please help!

That’s odd if the i phone isn’t showing cellular data used while roaming is off. I would call Apple further from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201232

It is current. Apps do show using cellular data. I have spoken to T-m regarding the roaming data usage...3 times. T-mobile says it’s not possible to use cellular data outside their area with roaming turned off. Clearly, it’s possible, because it’s happening.

How much data are we talking about? MBs or GBs

If you live nowhere near masts why do you have cellular/mobile turned on?

What apps or system services sub categories are showing in Settings, Cellular/mobile as using data?

Have them send you a list of data used each day
